Welcome
to the
Return to Bruce BLACK's MAGIC!!
Harry Houdini helped organize the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.) in 1902. We are the oldest magic group devoted to learning and performing the art of magic. In an effort to teach a new generation of magicians, the Colorado Springs Society of Young Magicians Assembly (S.Y.M.) Y103 was formed in 1993. We are one of over 100 S.Y.M. Assemblies worldwide. Come join us!
Membership
Members must be ages 7 to 16 and have a strong interest in magic. There are no local dues, but members of the Colorado Springs S.Y.M. are required to join the International S.Y.M. under the Society of American Magicians. Dues are only $20 per year. Members receive a membership card, membership pin and a monthly publication, The Magic SYMbol. Written especially for young magicians, it features news about the youth program, articles by well-known magicians, including David Copperfield and Lance Burton, and by S.Y.M. members themselves. Also included are easy-to-perform magic tricks and advice on how to grow and become proficient in the Art of Magic.

Meetings
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Sand Creek
Police Station, 4125 Center Park (1 block east of the Academy/Fountain intersection)
You are invited to come once as a guest before joining. The adult group, the
Pikes Peak Prestidigitators, follow our meeting at 7:15 pm. Junior members are
usually welcome to stay for that meeting too.
In addition to regular meetings in which magic is taught, practiced, and shared, the club takes part in one or two Public Magic Shows per year. (In a recent performance at Peterson Air Force Base we performed with the adult group in a sold out show for over 470 people!) Members of the club are also eligible to participate in selected activities (magic lectures, auctions, banquets) of the adult magic club. They are also eligible for magic camp scholorships. (One of our members, Michael Collins, was selected in 2003, one of only 3 in the entire nation!!!)
Sponsoring Organization
Our Sponsor Organization is the Pikes Peak Prestidigitators (PPP), Assembly
170, a local group of magicians formed under charter with the Society Of American
Magicians, (S.A.M.). Members of the adult club serve as adult leaders, guest
lecturers, and mentors to the S.Y.M. members. The S.Y.M. Assembly Leader is
Master Magician Bruce Black. Dick Bowman and Dave Wintermute
also assist with the programs.
